T in the Park 2010
Held at the airfield in Balado, Kinross-shire, concerning Friday the 9th together with Sunday 11th of July, this 3 day festival is headlined by some serious musical heavy weights!
Friday sees Muse taking the superior slot with their arena filling brand or stone. Singer & guitarist Shiny Bellamy has been hailed as one of the greatest talents to emerge from the UK for years and his band hardly ever disappoint.
On Saturday rapper and self confessed bad boy Eminem may be the ends the show using Sunday's closing party becoming headlined by rockers Kasabian with just been nominated for three awards by the readers of MOJO newspaper.
Another highlight, in my humble opinion, would be the chance to see the legendary Madness headlining the air One/NME stage. Expect to check on some great ska/pop classics such as 'It Must Be Enjoy, Our house, Baggy Trouser and also the Prince mixed in with the usual Madness tomfoolery.
Stereophonics have recently released a new album titled 'Keep Relaxed and Carry On'. They are hitting the Main stage before Eminem along with Paolo Nutini, Vampire Day, The Proclaimers, Newton Faulkner and Scouting for girls.
Paloma Faith, the attractively quirky singer/performer, is supporting Muse in the Friday with The Significant Pink.
In addition to your 3 main stages there's also King Tuts Wah Wah period, (Calvin Harris, Mumford together with Sons), The Green Bull Jam Future stage, (Echo and your Bunnymen, Ash, The Drums) and also the Slam tent, (Carl Cox, Plastikman) And then a bounty of acts appearing across the week end such as Chipmunk, Perl and that Puppets, Unicorn Kid, Kid Adrift and also the Boy Who Trapped Ultra violet rays.
In between your most loved artist, (or should that be when the artists you don't enjoy are on), you can wander to the funfair or the cinema where one can decide for yourself what films so you see. Voting will open sometime before the event and the most used films get shown.
Also you will have two Healthy T spots, one in the music arena and one in the campsite. Lounge around on big cushions or like the sun, (fingers surpassed), on the benches whilst sampling some great foods from world wide.
Massage is also available with many different massage styles to choose from costing anywhere between five and thirty pounds! Bargain!
Two 'Refresh and Pamper Stations' are available too with 'posh' toilets, hairdryers, showers and hair straighteners!!
As you would expect there are market stalls selling almost everything you need to help make your weekend a terrific one but please look into the 'Essentials' section over the T in the Park website to avoid paying out for things you already have in your attic!
Have fun and enjoy!
